ŘÍJNOVÉ CESTOVÁNÍ - KEFALONIA/ TRAVEL IN OCTOBER

Konec října jsem zakončila cestou do Řecka na ostrov Kefalonia. Cílem bylo projet ostrov veřejnou dopravou a autem, poznat nejodlehlejší místa, ale také důkladně prozkoumat ty nejbližší, či se vydat trajektem na vedlejší ostrov Zakyntos. V tomhle náš plán lehce ztroskotal, jakmile končí začátkem října sezóna, už si na do lodě nesednete... a autobus na ostrově neseženete. 

I ended the end of October with a trip to Greece to the island of Kefalonia. The goal was to travel the island by public transport and by car, get to know the most remote places, but also thoroughly explore the closest ones, or take a ferry to the neighboring island of Zakynthos. This is where our plan fell apart, as soon as the season ends at the beginning of October, you can't get on the boat anymore... and you can't get the bus on the island.

Ich beendete Ende Oktober mit einer Reise nach Griechenland auf die Insel Kefalonia. Ziel war es, die Insel mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln und dem Auto zu bereisen, die abgelegensten Orte kennenzulernen, aber auch die nächsten gründlich zu erkunden, oder mit der Fähre zur Nachbarinsel Zakynthos zu fahren. Hier ist unser Plan gescheitert, sobald die Saison Anfang Oktober endet, kommt man nicht mehr aufs Boot... und auf der Insel kommt man nicht mehr in den Bus.

 

Během týdne jsme vystřídali 5 ubytování, které jsme měli přes booking.com - většinou bez snídaně a vařili si jídlo ráno v kuchyňce. Auto jsme měli půjčené od místní autopůjčovny, která se nacházela jako jedna z mnoha u letiště. Letenky jsme si koupili sólo bez cestovky. A víte co? Bylo to fajn! 

During the week, we changed 5 accommodations that we had through booking.com - mostly without breakfast and cooking in the kitchen in the morning. We rented a car from a local car rental company, which was one of many near the airport. We bought the tickets solo without a travel card. And you know what? It was fine! 

Unter der Woche haben wir 5 Unterkünfte, die wir über booking.com hatten, gewechselt – meist ohne Frühstück und morgens in der Küche kochen. Wir mieteten ein Auto bei einer lokalen Autovermietung, die eine von vielen in der Nähe des Flughafens war. Wir haben die Tickets solo ohne Fahrkarte gekauft. Und weisst du was? Es war gut!

1. den jsme navštívili zříceninu hradu Kastrol, jeskyni Melissani a Drogaratti, u kterých nás fascinoval podzemní vodní systém. Účastnili jsme se náboženských oslav sv. Františka. Pro pochopení, nejsme příliš velcí vyznavači náboženství, ale byla to zajímavá zkušenost. Zdálo se, jak kdyby se všichni lidi z ostrova sjeli do jednoho místa aby se společně modlili a užívali přilehlé stánky s jídlem. 

On the 1st day, we visited the Kastrol castle ruins, Melissani cave and Drogaratti, where we were fascinated by the underground water system. We participated in the religious celebrations of St. Francis. To be clear, we are not very religious, but it was an interesting experience. It seemed as if all the people of the island had gathered in one place to pray together and enjoy the adjacent food stalls.

Am 1. Tag besuchten wir die Burgruinen von Kastrol, die Melissani-Höhle und Drogaratti, wo uns das unterirdische Wassersystem faszinierte. Wir nahmen an den religiösen Feiern des Hl. Franziskus teil. Um es klar zu sagen, wir sind nicht sehr religiös, aber es war eine interessante Erfahrung. Es schien, als hätten sich alle Menschen der Insel an einem Ort versammelt, um gemeinsam zu beten und sich an den angrenzenden Essensständen zu erfreuen.

 

Další den jsme vyrazili na horu Mount Ainos, která se tyčí do výšky 1628 metrů nad mořem. U vrcholku je chráněná krajinná oblast, kde lze vyrazit na menší turistiku. Skrze nachlazení jsem myslela, že umřu, ale zvládli jsme odhadem nachodit 6 kilometrů. Z hory uvidíte do všech míst ostrova a i například výše zmiňovaný Zakynthos. 

The next day we went to Mount Ainos, which rises to a height of 1628 meters above sea level. At the top, there is a protected landscape area where you can go on a short hike. I thought I was going to die because of the cold, but we managed to walk an estimated 6 kilometers. From the mountain you can see all the places of the island and also, for example, the above-mentioned Zakynthos. 

Am nächsten Tag fuhren wir zum Berg Ainos, der sich auf eine Höhe von 1628 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel erhebt. Oben befindet sich ein Landschaftsschutzgebiet, in dem Sie eine kleine Wanderung unternehmen können. Ich dachte, ich würde wegen der Kälte sterben, aber wir haben es geschafft, geschätzte 6 Kilometer zu Fuß zu gehen. Vom Berg aus sieht man alle Orte der Insel und zum Beispiel auch das oben erwähnte Zakynthos. 

 

A také jsme objevovali pláže. Vteri beach mě zaujala tím, že dostat se k ní trvalo cca 40 minut skrze přírodní stezky a kamenní. Věřím, že tato pláž během léta nebývá tolik přeplněná jako například nádherná a vyhlášená Myrtos beach, kde jsme trávili asi 3 dny. Obě pláže jsou s bílými oblázky a nádherným průzračným mořem.  K Myrtos beach je možné sjet z kopců autem. Ammos beach má oproti předchozím plážím výhodu naprostého soukromí, protože po zemětřesení z roku 2014 se k ní jen tak nedostanete, nebo spíše pešky jen na vlastní nebezpečí, turisté sem proto jezdí lodí. O moři se zde píše, že je poměrně hluboké a má silné proudy, což souvisí s tím, že se nachází asi u "zlomu"?, nejsem si jistá... každopádně právě zde jsou častá zemětřesení. 

A samozřejmě, pokud vyrazíte na Kefalonii, určitě navštivte městečko Argostoli, které nabízí procházku po mostě přes moře, krásný maják, ikonický nápis Kefalonia a také spoustou obchůdků a restaurací.  

The following days we explored the beaches. Vteri beach caught my attention because it took about 40 minutes to get to it through natural and stone paths. I believe that this beach is not as crowded during the summer as, for example, the beautiful and famous Myrtos beach, where we spent about 3 days. Both beaches have white pebbles and a beautiful clear sea. It is possible to go down the hills to Myrtos beach by car. Compared to the previous beaches, Ammos beach has the advantage of complete privacy, because after the 2014 earthquake you can't just get to it, or rather on foot only at your own risk, that's why tourists go here by boat. The sea here is said to be quite deep and has strong currents, which is related to the fact that it is located at about a "break"?, I'm not sure... anyway, this is where earthquakes are frequent.

And of course, if you go to Kefalonia, be sure to visit the town of Argostoli, which offers a walk on the bridge over the sea, a beautiful lighthouse, the iconic Kefalonia sign, as well as an abundance of shops and restaurants.

In den folgenden Tagen erkundeten wir die Strände. Der Strand von Vteri erregte meine Aufmerksamkeit, weil es ungefähr 40 Minuten dauerte, um ihn über natürliche und steinige Pfade zu erreichen. Ich glaube, dass dieser Strand im Sommer nicht so überfüllt ist wie beispielsweise der schöne und berühmte Myrtos-Strand, an dem wir etwa 3 Tage verbracht haben. Beide Strände haben weiße Kieselsteine und ein wunderschönes klares Meer. Es ist möglich, mit dem Auto die Hügel hinunter zum Strand von Myrtos zu fahren. Im Vergleich zu den vorherigen Stränden hat der Strand von Ammos den Vorteil der absoluten Privatsphäre, denn nach dem Erdbeben von 2014 kann man ihn nicht einfach erreichen, bzw. zu Fuß nur auf eigene Gefahr, deshalb fahren Touristen mit dem Boot hierher. Das Meer hier soll ziemlich tief sein und starke Strömungen haben, was damit zusammenhängt, dass es sich ungefähr an einer "Kante" befindet?, ich bin mir nicht sicher ... jedenfalls kommt es hier häufig zu Erdbeben.

Und natürlich, wenn Sie nach Kefalonia reisen, sollten Sie unbedingt die Stadt Argostoli besuchen, die einen Spaziergang auf der Brücke über das Meer, einen wunderschönen Leuchtturm, das ikonische Kefalonia-Schild sowie eine Fülle von Geschäften und Restaurants bietet.
